BEHIND THE SHEEN.

Stainless steel pipe and tube manufacturing is a complex, multi-step process that demands precision and expertise at every stage. This commitment to excellence ensures that stainless steel pipes remain a cornerstone of modern infrastructure and industrial applications.

VISHAAN operates out of a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility covering 4,500 square meters and strategically located on NH-34. Equipped with indigenous tube mills and polish mills, VISHAAN ’s facility produces up to 1,000 metric tons annually, meeting market demands with precision and reliability.

Stainless steel pipes and tubes are indispensable across industries such as construction, oil and gas, and chemical processing. Manufacturing these pipes requires a meticulous process that ensures durability, precision, and high performance. The facility’s technological infrastructure ensures compliance with the strictest quality controls and regulatory standards. From inspecting and cleaning the coil all the way to delivery, our manufacturing is a 9-stage process.

Stage One :

The journey begins with selecting high-quality stainless steel billets or plates sourced from trusted suppliers. These raw materials are thoroughly inspected for defects or irregularities. After inspection, they are cleaned to ensure a flawless starting point for production.

Stage Two :

The cleaned raw materials are cut to the required lengths using precision cutting machines. These pieces are then shaped into cylindrical forms using advanced mill machines. This stage ensures the metal is properly bent and prepared for further processing.

For smooth and defect-free pipes, the tube mill is calibrated carefully. Factors such as speed, voltage, and current are optimized to achieve seamless surfaces and eliminate visible welding lines.

Stage fOUR :

The rolling stage shapes the metal into seamless pipes. Here, the metal is rolled to achieve the desired diameter and wall thickness, ensuring uniformity and structural integrity.

Stage FIVE :

In the case of welded pipes, edges are joined using precision welding machines. High-purity Argon gas (99.9%) is used during the welding process to create a steady, spark-free flame. This step ensures a seamless finish with robust structural strength. Each weld is carefully inspected to detect any imperfections.

Heat treatment is applied to enhance the pipes' mechanical and chemical properties. By heating to specific temperatures and cooling at controlled rates, the process relieves internal stresses, improves corrosion resistance, and fortifies the overall strength of the pipes.

Machining and Surface Finishing

Stage eight :
Stage nine :

The heat-treated pipes undergo machining processes such as cutting, threading, and chamfering to meet precise specifications. Surface finishing includes:

  • Polishing: Ensuring a smooth surface with controlled motor speeds and optimal flap wheel pressure.

  • Grinding: Smoothening pipe edges and addressing imperfections.

  • Cleaning: Removing impurities and burn marks to ensure a pristine final product.

The final stage involves rigorous quality control measures:

  • Hydrostatic Testing: Ensuring the pipe can withstand internal pressure.

  • Ultrasonic Testing: Detecting internal inconsistencies.

  • Radiography Testing: Verifying weld integrity and material composition.

Each pipe is meticulously inspected for defects to ensure they meet industry standards before dispatch.

Once the pipes pass inspection, they are prepared for delivery. The packaging process involves securely bundling and wrapping the pipes to protect them during transit. Materials such as plastic wraps, wooden crates, or steel straps are used based on the product's size and specifications. The pipes are labeled with relevant details, including dimensions and quality certifications.

Finally, the packaged pipes are carefully loaded for transportation to the client's location, ensuring timely and safe delivery.
